Our family have been shooters and reloaders for 40 years and taking part in rimfire competitions have highlighted a common problem with regard to rimfire ammunition - testing of multiple brands from entry level to premium - all have a certain standard of consistency in a lot produced but bullet speed does vary between batches - this puts the competitive shooter in a position where once a batch that really suits their barrel harmonics and produces the desired accuracy becomes unavailable, they then are back to square one looking for a suitable batch from their chosen ammunition brand.

This frustrating situation led to the development of the Tune pro X barrel tuners and the different models cater for different weight and shooting classes

The result after prototype development in conjunction with our fantastic engineering team resulted in a tuning system that is simple to fit, a precision high quality instrument that is virtually maintenance free and offers repeatable infinite linear adjustment to tune your barrel to suit your ammunition and atmospheric conditions.

The fact that the tuner requires no alteration of your barrel profile or requires threading of the barrel negates the possibility of affecting your barrel choke at the muzzle end.

The costs and concerns involved having to send your rifle away to have a tuner fitted is negated and not having to concern yourself with batch changes is a game changer.

Furthermore the muzzle of the rifle is accessible for maintenance and cleaning and the system does not extend your barrel and cause issues with rifle cabinets and carry cases.

After extensive testing the use of special low resonating alloys and recoil resistant threads were developed - ensuring minimal vibration and harmonic disturbance of the barrel during the firing process.

Tuner adjustments once fitted is completely tool free ensuring repeatable adjustments by hand making the process ultra simple.

We even cater for tapered barrels as found on the multitude of Martini action BSA rifles used by local UK shooters.

Our aim is to produce  the most snug fitting over the barrel tuner body as possible as a poor fit would be aesthetically unpleasing - the following  standard sizes that suits the most popular Anschutz and CZ rifle barrel models - these sizes do cover most heavy barrel sizes but should you have a barrel that do not closely resemble these sizes or taper we would gladly assist to get the best fit possible.

Measuring for size:

We do suggest the following to achieve a good fit :

Measure the muzzle end diameter and barrel diameter at 70mm from the muzzel end - the length of the tuner is 70mm - using a accurate digital vernier.

Supply us with your exact measurements - we will add a correction of 0.05mm to allow a good fit.

We do not accept responsibility for incorrect measurements - should the unit be undersized that can be rectified at additional cost of postage and £25 - oversize we cannot do anything about - the clamp can accommodate a 0.10 mm oversize but the fit at muzzle end will not be optimal aesthetically - however the function of the tuner should not be affected.

The following barrel sizes are standard Anschutz and CZ - bespoke sizes will be at a additional charge of £30.

1. 22.00mm - Tuner bore max 22.05mm to fit the barrel snug.
2. 23.90mm - Tuner bore max 23.95mm to fit the barrel snug.
3. 25.56mm - Tuner bore max 25.61mm to fit the barrel snug.

Model A1 £260

All Brass alloy mounting body and tuner weight - aimed at bench rest shooters that is not concerned about weight and would prefer the additional weight to control recoil and dampen harmonics most effectively.

Total weight 550grams (this varies slightly as tuner bodies are machined to fit individual barrel sizes - the tuner weight remains constant.)

Model A2 £260

Aluminium T6 alloy lightweight body - aimed at  shooters  concerned about weight - the tuner weight is the standard weight of all the tuners so the tuning capability of the tuner is not affected - once the base clamp is clamped to the rifle it is part of the barrel - the linear movement of the weight controls the barrel harmonics.

Total weight 340 grams (this varies slightly as tuner bodies are machined to fit individual barrel sizes - the tuner weight remains constant.)

1.Do they work?

The only answer here is that you can make many claims of lab results and scientific studies but results on the range is real world proof and we are basing our statement on those hard facts.

Every single client that has fitted one has reported much improved group sizes and less vertical dispersion.

In our own club users of the Tune Pro X has moved up several divisions and their scores have improved.

Every single user in other clubs have shown increased scores and personal best scores - to date not a single tuner user have returned with a negative verdict or review since using our product.

Since using Tune Pro X we have won the prestigious Yorkshire league hosted in the United Kingdom centenary competition in all 3 sections in the top division 1 - this is the 6 top competitors in the country in 20m,50m and 100yds 2024.

Competitors in this competition include European and world championship competitors and International shooting competitors that represent the country.

We have won the winter Perthsire league in Scotland 2025 with a record score of 1998 out of a possible 2000 points in division one.

Feedback from clients have a reduction in group sizes of 15 to 30% and our own results mirrors that.

2.How does the tuner attach to the barrel and do you need special tools and is any gunsmith work required?

The tuners are custom made to your barrel profile and is a very snug slip on fit generally made 0.05mm / 0.002" larger than your barrel for perfect fit.

2 Allen bolts tightened with Allen key  is all required to clamp it in place and you are set - no gunsmith or threading of barrel required - the tuner is generally fitted flush with the muzzle or if the barrel is threaded right behind the thread cap , muzzle break or moderator.

Adjustment of the tuner once fitted is tool less and done by hand - the adjustments are infinitely fine in increments and you can adjust repeatedly in increments of 0.001" at a time if required  it could not be simpler - no grub screws no ratchets and it does not rotate unless turned - the patented friction system is totally effective.

3.Does it extend the barrel and how do you avoid carbon build up and how do you maintain it.

It does not extend the barrel as it is mounted flush with the end of the barrel unless the owner decides that for barrel profile reasons it would be the better option to mount it overhanging the muzzle - we have had to do that in a couple of cases where an unusually large increase in profile was out of the design spec of the tuner - there was absolutely no detrimental effect on the function of the tuner as long as the 30mm length of the clamp was fully engaged on the barrel.

As our tuners are the outer diameter of the barrel and the overhang would be maximum 40mm it is still relatively easy to clean the muzzle and inside of the tuner without removing it.

The result of normally not extending the barrel and mounting it flush negates the removal of the tuner for travel or having issues fitting into gun cabinets or rifle cases.

There is no carbon build up as free access is available to the muzzle for cleaning and maintenance - the tuner is virtually a sealed unit and maintenance free - not requiring the removal of the tuner negates re-tuning on removal and replacement of the tuner  as .001" linear movement can make a huge change. Removal and replacement of tuners can have detrimental effect on your tune if the tuner is not replaced in exactly the same position - with a difference in position of 0.001" causing significant changes this is a huge advantage.

Less or more torque when replacing a screwed on tuner can also have a detrimental effect so we avoided that in the Tune Pro X design.
